2014 Grant Recipients

 

Group 3At the Annual General Meeting of the Parksville-Qualicum Community Foundation, cheques totalling $10,250 were presented to 11 Community Groups.   Established in 1999, the Foundation was pleased to celebrate its 15th anniversary by supporting local non-profit groups and helping to build vibrant communities.


Organizations receiving funds were:

  • Oceanside Building Learning Together Society
  • The Parksville and District Historical Society
  • Arrowsmith Search and Rescue
  • The Stroke Recovery Association of BC - Oceanside
  • Qualicum Beach Honours Society
  • Lighthouse Community Center
  • Young Life of Qualicum Beach
  • Errington Preschool Parents Society
  • Haven Society
  • Errington and District Volunteer Fire Department
  • 893 Beaufort Squadron Air Cadets

The grants came from the Community Fund which is just one of the over 20 funds managed by the Foundation.  With assets of over $2 million invested with the Vancouver Founadtion (Canada's largest Community Foundation) the total impact of dollars returned to community organizations, individuals and educational funds was in excess of $80,000 for the year 2013.   This money comes from the return on investment of the funds held by the Foundation.
